Society Management Platform
The platform is being built to help housing societies move notices, complaints, payments tracking and resident records out of scattered chats and spreadsheets into one web application.
The problem
Society admins often juggle announcements, resident requests and records across WhatsApp groups and files. That makes it hard to keep a reliable history or a single place residents can check.
The solution
A React web application with a Node.js API and MongoDB, organised around residents, notices, requests and administrative workflows. The product is structured so roles and modules can be extended as societies need more than the first release.
Key features
- Resident and admin-oriented workflows
- Notices and communication in one place
- Request tracking instead of ad-hoc chats
- REST APIs for core society operations
Architecture
React frontend, Node.js REST APIs, MongoDB for operational data. Modules are separated so communication, residents and administration can evolve independently.
Challenges
- Keeping workflows simple enough for non-technical residents and committee members
- Modelling society data so later modules do not require a rewrite
- Designing permissions around admin vs resident access
Current status
Current implementation. This is an active development project, not a published case study with production metrics.
